Challenges and Opportunities in Integrating New Technologies into Smart Drug Delivery
The pandemic has accelerated the need for and adoption of digitally enabled medical devices to support virtual care through telehealth. This includes remote patient monitoring and adherence in clinical trials. There has been a trend towards incorporating dosing and monitoring technologies in the drug delivery space, which opens the door to new opportunities for pharma companies to determine adherence for outcome-driven care, but has its own set of challenges. Join our panelists as they talk about their experience with developing smart drug delivery devices, overcoming challenges such as designing with the patient needs in mind, device and data security, the complexity of the supply chain, compatibility with existing infrastructure, and the changing regulatory landscape.
